2015, I learned ... 2016, I will ...

Thursday, 31 December 2015

Dear all, I hope everyone is doing well.

Another page of our journey is about to close, another will open soon, and I share here below the chapter 2015 of my journey.

It has been quite intriguing on many levels.
When I look back at my previous posts or remember how I would think at the end of each year, I feel so glad about the changes in my life, which resulted in achievements that I would have probably never succeeded in, had I remained in the same state.

But let's get started with the main subject of my post:

1. I got out of depression, finishing it off without medicine.

Actually it had started last year, at that time, my posts became less frequent as I was not aware of my situation.
I have struggled with anxiety, panic attacks which sent me at some point to depression. The smallest tasks became less achievable, and everything became suffocating such as going out or working... Thankfully, with time, patience and a lot of opening up, I managed to rise up again and move on. I will share my experience in a later post.

2. I faced my fears and travelled, for the first time ever, alone.

First and second achievement are kind of connected, but yet two different steps. After I got out of depression, it was time to look at fear in the eyes and consider it as merely a thought. It was the best experience ever and I'm proud that I took the step. You can read more here.

3. I attended to 3 concerts of my favourite artists and met two of them.

As a concert lover, I was very happy to be able to attend to 3 concerts, meeting amazing people, and having the time of my life in the most unexpected ways. You can find more details via these links: VAMPS+Yoshiki , Miyavi .

4. I gained back confidence in my projects and got back to writing and drawing.

Due to depression, I experienced a serious block where I had a feeling I could see my ideas, my characters but none would talk to me, the blank paper remained blank and my mind refused to cooperate. Today, I am happy to say that I'm back at living my passion and enjoying every single moment of it, as I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

5. I bought my first car.

It took me some time to get decided, but I finally gave myself that extra kick to buy a car and it feels great (despite the traffic horror). It's liberating, I feel more independent and it's a bit similar to travelling when  passing through the beach after work.

Despite the challenges, it set me free. Like J.K Rowling had mentioned:
Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life

2015 and all people that had an impact on my journey, thank you for the lessons and the good moments, good-bye to those who left, hello to those who joined. This doesn't mean that I will never face any challenge again, this means that, this time, I will stand and acknowledge the challenge instead of running away and hide, I will take the time to let go of burden and move on.

2016, here I am! Let's rock together for a fun, healthy and creative life!
