BOOK 1 : Inspiration

Friday 8 April 2016

Hello bloggies,

I hope you're doing well.

Today the subject will be about my first book, or rather what has inspired and is currently inspiring me to write it.
I will title it for now book1.

I think this is the first post I will write about my book and it's quite challenging as I'm trying not to spoil everything.

Let's give it a try, shall we ? :)

What I may say is the following:

It is an adventure, and adventures create meetings, challenges, bonding, fear, joy, war, peace, love, hate, jealousy but most importantly life.

"The moon had always been there, shining, observing, hiding behind the clouds, keeping her secret safe. But when the secret is discovered by a human, what consequences will await life and the world that human is about to step in".

The moon sees the beauty, the darkness, the kindness, the cruelty in each of these unidentified beings.
It has been there since the birth of the first creature and has ever since guided them in the ever-changing world for several centuries.
When the masks will fall, phantasmagoria will set in, fiction and reality will be dancing hand in hand as the secret step by step unveils parcels of its story before being engulfed by a war of bloodline.

For this fantasy story, I was inspired mainly by a band, from which I've been a fan for quite some time: Malice Mizer.
Their songs and visual kei style made me think of several scenes or state of minds for each of my characters.
I've been fond of the aristocratic side since I was a teenager, so when I discovered this band I was beyond happy. I loved the diversity of the music from baroque to rock, underground and classic, the aristocratic aesthetic, the lyrics and it fit perfectly in the world that I am writing.

Of course their music is not the only I listen to when I work but if I had to mention every single song, I would probably never end, but I would like to add also soundtracks such a Celtic music from
Adrian Von Ziegler.

To be honest, when I'm writing or picturing my story, I act like a director and sometimes try to enter the character's mind to understand his feelings and his reactions.

But here's the thing...telling what my novel is about could cause to spoil the fun of discovering. It's so difficult for me to resume it in one sentence. Limiting stresses me more out than expanding a text. I remember during English lessons where we had a small text, I would usually go over the edge.

I have combined so many themes I enjoy that to squeeze them into one sentence, it would probably end up in a litany of words with absolutely no meaning.

I need to get back to my writing, and I'll try to post an excerpt of it later on.

Thank you for reading me and have a lovely weekend.
